ThredUp Resale Partnerships

by

Sustainable fashion is more than just about responsible materials, it incorporates all aspects of the fashion life cycle. From production to sale, sustainability is up for a challenge when it comes to clothes. This struggle only increases with the rise of fast fashion companies. According to the Harvard Business Review the fashion world has struggled with transparency and are still continuing to massively contribute to carbon emissions. Many clothing retail companies are confronting this with digging into their sustainability initiatives and ThredUp is helping them do it. ThredUp is an online thrift store that has partnered with several retail brands to provide some really great services. One of those is their resale program where they have partnered with some of our favorite brands to bring us amazing and sustainable clothes. Here are four of those brands to get you started:

MADEWELL

PACSUN

Abercrombie & Fitch

Kate Spade

There are two parts of this initiative. The first is the online resale shop with the brands, but definitely not limited to, mentioned above. The other is the clean out program where you can pack up your clothes and send them in to get a cash out or store credit. However, if these programs are truly going to work then it is up to not just the fashion companies but us too. It is time to clean out and donate our clothes and add some great eco friendly choices. Thrifting and resale isn’t just a trend but a true contribution to the circular economy of fashion.
